How do I see how many people have viewed my advert.
Go to your advert editing page and look in the visitor information box. The detail view is the number of people who have viewed your advert in full. There is also the date and time it was last viewed, the number of people who have contacted you, the details of when and who it was and what they said.
Please note, some adverts do not allow these features, in particular, our budget adverts do not normally allow you to see these statistics .

I have made a change to my advert but cannot see it on the website?
Computers can hold a cached view of a web site and images.
Try refreshing the page on your browser or holding the CTL key and pressing F5 (function key)
Also a lot of ISP's (internet service provider - i.e. NTL or BT) cache information on servers, eventually you will see the correct image or changed content.

How do I get a valuation on my property?
There are three ways -
1. Look at similar properties in your area.
2. Ask an estate agent to do a valuation.
3. Some websites offer a free online service where you can see the value of properties near your home that have recently been sold.
They provide access to UK house prices in England, Scotland and Wales, as recorded by the Land Registry (since April 2000) and the Registers of Scotland (since May 2000).

How can I ask an estate agent for a valuation if I will not be using them to sell my property?
Yes it is cheeky but people do this all the time when re mortgaging. Most people get at least two or three valuations from different estate agents before deciding on which one to proceed with.

Can I use this site as well as an estate agent? What if I have a 'Sole Agency' agreement?
Yes, you can, you may promote your property with us as well and this should not affect your rights.
Most vendors do not realise that a "sole agency agreement" does not normally affect your right to sell the property privately. Estate agents are normally entitled to commission only if they sell your property.
You should check your contract, if it states that the estate agent has sole agency rights then you will be able to sell your house privately without having to pay the agents fees. If your contract states the estate agent has sole selling rights then you will have to pay the agents fees if you sell your property privately while you are under contract.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has a guide to selling a property and they provide a booklet offering advice. Called "Using an estate agent to buy or sell your home".
